annual celebration of May Gibbs’ birthday 

May Gibbs wasborn on 17 January, 1877.

May Gibbs was a passionate lover of Scotty dogs; she had at least one as a companion during most of her time living at Nutcote. They regularly featured in her illustrations and later in her stories. 

To celebrate her birthday each year in January we hold a special event where we welcome all Scotty dogs and their owners to join in this annual celebration at Nutcote. 

On this day all Scottish Terriers are invited to bring along their humans friends. One human is permitted free of charge for each dog. Non dog owners are also invited to join the celebrations and enjoy the garden full op pups. There will be with specials from the cafe including birthday cupcakes and scones.
