May Gibbs’ Nutcote is a magical and very special place - an ideal venue for your child's next birthday party. Nutcote has been faithfully restored by The Nutcote Trust and is listed on the Register of the National Estate. Nestled on the harbour at Neutral Bay, built in 1925 and designed by BJ Waterhouse, Nutcote provides the perfect setting for your child's garden picnic birthday party.
Cost
Minimum cost of a Nutcote Children’s Birthday Party is $350.00 for 10 children. Each additional child above the minimum number of 10 is $25.00 per child up to a maximum of 15 children. Nutcote requires a booking deposit of $100.00 to confirm the date and time of the party, also payable at the time of booking is a $100.00 administration fee. The $100.00 deposit will be refunded on the day of the party.

Day and time
Nutcote Children's Birthday Parties are held on Saturdays only. There are two 2-hour sessions to choose from: 10.00am-12.00pm or 1pm-3pm.
What To Bring
Simply, a birthday cake! Please note, there is limited space at Nutcote therefore we cannot store a cake in our fridge or freezer. Nutcote supplies plates; cups and a cake-cutting knife however, please don’t forget to bring birthday candles!
Catering
A set picnic menu will be served to the party attendees. It is very important that Nutcote is informed about any food allergies of party attendees at the time of booking.
Menu: Seasonal fruit, cheese cubes and crackers, corn chips and dip, carrot and celery sticks, fairy bread, mini lamingtons, juice poppers and water.
Supervision
Two designated adult helpers are to be appointed to stay with the party for its duration to assist with taking children from the house to the toilet and any other movement around the property. Nutcote is a heritage property and great care must be taken when in the garden and house, and all party guests and parents must ensure that no damage is made to plants in the garden or the lawn, when moving around the property or playing games, and none of the items in the house are to be handled.
Other Children
No children other than invited guests are permitted to attend the party, as each party is limited to numbers (no more than 15) due to OH&S guidelines, this includes the siblings of invited guests. If siblings of invited guests do attend the property they must be supervised with the parents at all times and may not join in with party games. Invited guests will receive a stamp when they enter the property to avoid confusion.
For The Parents
Adults can also enjoy a children’s birthday party at Nutcote! A tour of the House Museum for parents of party attendees is offered at the concession rate of $5.00 per person and must be paid to the duty manager in the gift shop before entering the house as well as some refreshments in the way of a cheese and fruit platter. Parents of the birthday child are welcome to bring wine or champagne (limit of two bottles) for the parents of party attendees however a charge for the use of our glasses ($10) will be added to the overall cost if used.

Conditions of Booking:
- Nutcote is an important heritage property listed on the National Estate and all visitors are requested to respect the house, gardens and facilities. Please note that bags, food, drink, and photography are not permitted in the house.
- Each Children’s Birthday Party is limited to a 2-hour duration and parties finishing at 12.30pm need to be away from the party area by12.45pm at the latest to make provision for the next party.
- The $100 deposit and $100 administration fee is refundable less cancellation fee (20% if more than four weeks notice is given and 60% if less than four week's notice). If a cancellation is made less than 24 hours from the party day, the full deposit and administration fee will be retained.
- Full payment of the party is payable on the day of the party. Any late payments will incur a $50.00 fee per week.
- At least two adult/parents are needed to supervise during the party.
